What to bring
- You will require a valid GP referral
- Medicare card
- Letters or reports that you have from other professionals who have been involved such as psychologist, copies of any recent tests.

- Fax or email(screenshot is sufficient) your referral and Dr Hodgson will review and if necessary liase with your referring doctor if additional information is required
- Please arrive 15 minutes early for your first appointment to complete paperwork
- Initial assessment can be a lengthy process and may involve two or more sessions. At your first appointment, Dr Hodgson will take a full history and assessment and this will take approximately 60 minutes. You are welcome to bring along friends or family members with you to your appointment and, if you wish, Dr Hodgson may invite them in during the latter part of your appointment.
- Subsequent appointments are usually for 30 or 45 minutes. The last few minutes of this time allow for adequate records to be completed. After the assessment, treatment options and a management plan will be discussed which may include further psychiatry sessions. A summary of this is usually sent to your referring doctor.
- Dr Hodgson does not bulk-bill. All fees are payable on the day of consultation. Credit card and EFTPOS facilities are available and are the preferred means of payment. Cash(exact tender) and cheque are also accepted. A portion of each fee is rebateable from Medicare but there will be a gap payment. Private Health Insurance does not cover outpatient medical consultations. Please ensure you are registered for the Medicare Safety Net, as Medicare will cover 80% of further out-of-pocket expenses if you exceed approximately $2000.00 in out of pocket expenses per annum. This threshold is around $638.40 for Healthcare Card holders.
